Without Bagley, Duke gets past Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski has gotten more than he's expected out of the Blue Devils the past couple of weeks with Marvin Bagley III out. And he's certain it will pay dividends down the stretch once Duke's leading scorer and rebounder returns.

Gary Trent Jr. hit three foul shots with 1:31 left to put No. 12 Duke ahead for good, and the Blue Devils won their third straight with Bagley on the sidelines, 66-57 over 11th-ranked Clemson on Sunday.

No. 6 Purdue edges PSU to snap skid at 3

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) After a rough 10-day stretch, sixth-ranked Purdue rediscovered the joy of a well-played game.

Carsen Edwards and Dakota Mathias led the way in a second-half spurt, and Purdue held on to edge Penn State 76-73 on Sunday night.

Davis, Pickens help Stanford edge Cal

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) It took a little bit of luck and a pair of big free throws from Dorian Pickens in the final seconds to keep Stanford from getting swept by California this season.

More critically, the Cardinal kept their hopes alive for a first-round bye in the Pac-12 tournament, a break that would be huge for coach Jerod Haase's team.

Black has 28 as Illinois stuns Nebraska

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) Close games have not gone well for Illinois this season. The Illini have lost nine games by single digits, including three losses in overtime and one at the buzzer against Nebraska on Jan. 15.

But in a rematch Sunday afternoon, the Illini got their revenge in a 72-66 victory over the Cornhuskers, powered by Leron Black.

Loyola-Chicago grabs share of MVC title

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) Marques Townes scored 22 points and Clayton Custer added four 3-pointers and 17 points as Loyola-Chicago claimed at least a share of its first Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship Sunday with a 76-66 victory over Evansville.

Donte Ingram added 14 points and Aundre Jackson 11 for the Ramblers (23-5, 13-3), who have won five straight and 12 of their last 13. Loyola claimed its first league title since 1986-87, when it shared the crown in the Midwestern City Conference - now the Horizon League - with Evansville.

Hartford snaps Vermont's 15-game run

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) Jason Dunne made five 3-pointers and scored 26 points and Hartford ended Vermont's nation-best 15-game winning streak with a 69-68 victory on Sunday.

Hartford's Hassan Attia dunked with 1:41 left for the game's final points. Vermont (22-6, 12-1 America East) missed a 3-pointer with 1:20 to go and then had two shots blocked at the rim in the final seconds by John Carroll and Attia.
